About M2sLab

M2sLab is a training project built for men who want to prepare for a marathon the smart way. We believe that endurance training should be based on how the body actually adapts, not on generic plans copied from magazines or random advice from the internet. Our goal is simple: help men reach the start line healthy, prepared and confident, and cross the finish line stronger than they thought possible.

The name M2sLab reflects the three things at the heart of everything we do: Movement, Science and Sport. We combine practical coaching experience with principles from exercise physiology, running biomechanics and recovery science, then turn them into clear, structured training that fits real life.

Our Story

M2sLab started from a familiar problem. Many men decide to run a marathon, download a free plan and start training with plenty of motivation. A few weeks later, the same issues appear: sore knees, tight Achilles tendons, constant fatigue and no clear idea of whether the training is actually working. Some get injured and give up. Others reach race day, start too fast and hit the wall at kilometre 30.

We saw that most of these problems had nothing to do with talent or effort. They came from a lack of structure, poor pacing, no strength work and too little recovery. So we created a different approach: a system that explains not only what to run, but why each session matters. That system became the M2sLab Marathon Protocol, a 16-week, science-based marathon training plan designed specifically for men.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make marathon training clear, effective and sustainable for men at every level. Whether you are running your first marathon or chasing a sub-3:30 finish, you deserve a plan that respects your body, your schedule and your goals.

We want every runner who trains with M2sLab to:

  • Understand how training works and why every session has a purpose
  • Avoid the most common injuries through strength, mobility and smart load progression
  • Train consistently around work, family and everyday life
  • Run an even, controlled race and finish strong
  • Build habits that keep them healthy and active long after race day

Our Approach

Everything at M2sLab is built on three pillars.

Physiology

A marathon is an aerobic event. Our plans use heart-rate zones and the 80/20 principle to build a strong aerobic engine, raise the lactate threshold and teach the body to use energy efficiently over 42.2 kilometres.

Biomechanics

Most running injuries come from small, repeated stresses. That is why strength and mobility training are a fixed part of our protocol. Stronger hips, calves and core mean better running mechanics, less wasted energy and a lower risk of injury.

Recovery

Fitness is built between sessions. Planned recovery weeks, sleep guidance and practical nutrition rules help our runners absorb training instead of burning out.

What We Offer

  • The M2sLab Marathon Protocol: a structured 16-week plan with four phases: Base, Build, Peak and Taper
  • Heart-rate based training: clear zones for every session, from easy runs to intervals
  • Strength and mobility routines: short, runner-specific sessions to prevent injuries
  • Nutrition and recovery guidance: practical advice on carbohydrates, protein, hydration, sleep and carb-loading
  • Race-day strategy: pacing plans, split targets and fuelling guidelines for every goal time
  • Personal consultations: one-to-one support to adapt the plan to your level, schedule and race goal

Who We Work With

M2sLab is designed for men with real lives. Our runners are office workers, entrepreneurs, fathers and busy professionals who want to challenge themselves without putting their health, work or family at risk. Some are training for their very first marathon. Others have run several races and want to finally break a time barrier. Many are men over 40 who want to stay fit, strong and active for years to come.

What they share is a willingness to train with purpose and a desire to do it properly.

Our Values

Science over trends. We rely on proven training principles, not fads or quick fixes.

Health first. No finish time is worth a serious injury. Smart progression and recovery always come before ego.

Clarity. Every runner should understand their plan. No complicated jargon, no confusing workouts.

Honesty. We set realistic goals and give straightforward advice, even when it means telling you to slow down.

Consistency. Great marathons are built week by week, not in one heroic session.
